|VN750Rider/Jerry||It is now summer in AZ. Hit 100 degrees about a week ago, on it's way to 118. I'm going to move the new/used Vulcan into what used to be the living room so I can work on in in air conditioned comfort. It should be ready for riding season which starts around mid October. Meanwhile I have 4 cars, a truck, and 3 bikes with ethanol gas in them which have to be exercised. 2 of the cars and the truck and of course none of the bikes have A/C, so I have to take them out either early in the morning before sunrise, or at night. I take one per day out for at least a 5 mile ride/drive. I actually use the two cars with A/C.|

Yes, indeed. Spring is here and I have been quite absent from this site over the winter and early spring. I did pull The Beast out a couple of weekends ago and fired it up. That went very smoothly, thanks to my battery, plugs, and Seafoam. I had started it up once in either December or January when it got into the high 50s, but not since then. Mine is a 1986, so I have a “prime” setting on my petcock. I still don’t have an exact science for that first startup, but it involves a little patience. In less than 10 minutes, though, she started up, blew a little gray smoke, and then settled into a reasonable idle. Fine ever since, like winter never happened.
I still haven’t replaced that front tire with the one I bought last season, so I can’t take any long rides until I get that done. I’m really not looking forward to it, but once I get over it and commit to doing it, it shouldn’t be that bad. And I’ll feel MUCH better about riding the bike with that new tire.
Welcome to the new season. I’m excited.

Well it sounds nice and lopey, like a big cam, but I'd be worried about lubrication at that speed.
However, very few engines are actually designed to idle very long at all.
How much oil is in the sight glass when it's idling? 1/4 - 1/3 - 1/2 - full?

|slimangel24||Spring is here well you are lucky we got snow just the other day and freezing temperatures. I like the way your bike sounds in your video. I can't wait until my bike is fixed so I can go for my first ride in over a year and a half. Also what saddlebags do you have on your bike?|
