GIMPYRDR x2 what SeeBeeAre said. However, I would like to add that unless you took the baffles out of your V&H I wouldn't re-jet. I have V&H on my bike. According to V&H, the Cruzer exhaust for our bike has been engineered to go directly on the bike with the same back pressure as factory pipes. This is so you don't have to re-jet. I have met other Vulcan riders in passing and a couple did not know this, but had re-jetted any way. It showed in the under performance of their bikes. Those two stated they put the factory jets back in at the first chance. Backfiring or popping on deceleration is normal unless the bike has been "marbled" or "coastered".

Is it lean on mixture in the carbs?
I cant find jets on the Dynojet page for this bike,
Need help on this as I know if it was jetted right
than the pipoes would really work like thier supposed to,
does anyone know what front tires are on the pic of the maroon vulcan on the front page?
does anyone know where theres a maroon 750 like that?
Itsa sweet,
I have an 02 black one, but that dark red is really nice looking,
jets can be a little tricky ... we wre gonna need to know some more info we got the pipes but are u running stock intake, earshave, k&n, also will need to know your elevation...

However if u are running stock on the intake then i dont see needing new jets however there is a mixture screw behind the little led plugs next to the vac ports on the carbs (crobin has pics in her gallery on location ) <screws should be set between 2.5 and 3 turns out>
, have u tried marbeling or coastering check vulcan versas for thread?

Third thing to check is for exhast leaks take a lit ciggerette and run it up and down the pipes to see if the smoke is altered due to an exhaust leak... mine takes a sec to kick on the second cylinder however im running a little richer then most ,

the last things id peak at im guessin your issue is fuel so id dump some seafoam into your tank and try to clean out those carbs and maybe throw in some inline filters to prevent debris from getting into your carbs,
Every once in a while we get a tank of not so clean gas and seafoam will correct this...

On the electrical side of things check grounds and voltage at the coils,(red wire should be 12V)
connections in the ignition switch and safty switches (kickstand neutral kill and clutch switches ) , how are your plugs? me and many others recommend the iridium plugs and an maintnence free agm batt...

Tires im not sure about the bike on the cover but am more then satified with my metzlers 880 marathons but i also live in a rainy state and do a lot of riding in standing water...

hope this helps and gives u a couple areas to look at, were these symptons new did u do something befor this started to happen??? keep us informed and the more info u give us the more help we can be ...!!!
