skalding Awesome work. The fact that you took the time to document this is going to help someone put a bike back together one day. Maybe in 2025. Which is pretty cool when you think about it.

Now go have some fun ON her instead of under her. Hmm. Did I just type that?

OlHossCanada Hey jt, it's good to see her all together. BTW, when did the Truckers Girl become the Bikers Girl? I can see that both you and I have a bit of polishing or painting to do on the speedo and tack rings. I hope you get her all cleaned up and ready to ride soon.

weh44att Wib what you have is a mod, or a sissy bar extention. That you have to buy and stall by yourself. None of the bikes come with the higher bar and pad.

wib714 did want to ask about the backrest though, were they just higher in the earlier models or were there 2 styles?

wib714 except for the gouge in the tank, looks like some good scrubbing she would clean up pretty good and it sounds like you did the important part first, getting her running good. mine was filthy when I got him (its a him, after a year and a half I finally picked out a name) to be seen in a new thread. after I got the stator put in and the front splines lubed I took a little time and cleaned him up a good bit. I'm pretty happy with the way he looks now for an 86 w/ 31,000 miles on it. heres a pic.

before

after

keep at her and she'll be pretty again. still quite a few things I want to do to mine. but gotta keep him running good first. another set of dunlops is next. will be my second set.
nevermind the words on the first pic, solved that problem!

Yep She looks like the Battered woman she was. But a little bit at a Time.
Just need to find a seat pan. They broke the Plastic piece that latches to the frame off.
