curtis97322 Just wanted to save BD some typing here and remind others that first: the LEDs CA offers currently (6/9/07) are NOT what's being offered - they are the crappy 1157 replacements. The boards will be available in TWO weeks (~6/23/07) from CA - not from BD. He's currently trying to arrange a discount - but we will be ordering from CA - NOT BD. Make sure the part number (listed above) matches up (or BD posts a new one should it apply) before ya order.

bulldog485 Well, the LED brake light prototype came in during the week and I installed it on my VN750 to check it out. Freaking AWESOME… Bright as hell and drops the power consumption greatly.

Today I took it to Chad for him to give it a two week trial. Chad checked the amperage consumption and gave it a complete check out. He is impressed. We put it in at his place of work and started walking down the lot to see how far the brake light shows in the daylight. GD!!! That thing is BRIGHT!!! From 50 feet, it still is bright as hell. Much brighter then the 1157 bulbs. Chad will put about 1000 miles on this prototype and we should be able to give a positive recommendation to Clear Alternatives. I already gave them the thumbs up for production when I received the prototype and saw the quality and how it fits into the housing. Everyone who orders one will be happy as a pig in slop… It is one of the best upgrades to the VN750 and from Chad tells me, it greatly reduces the amperage draw. I know that when I replaced my Nomad 1157 bulbs with a LED board, it really gave me a boost and from what everyone tells me it is WAY brighter then the bulbs on the Nad. This VN750 board is just as good…

So, we are about two weeks away from being able to order this creature. The part number should be LED-46-L and should sell for around $49.99 each. www.clearalternatives.com

They will also sell the clear tail light housing too. Me personally, I like the red…

LED tail light board update

I spoke with Clear Alternatives on Friday about the LED Tail Light for the VN750. The prototype is finished and we are about 1 month from being able to order these. The part number will be determined at a later date. The price should be right around $49.99 for the board and around $69.99 (don't quote me on this one) for the board and a clear lenses.

The folks at CA asked me to give this unit a good field test to ensure the quality for the VN750. Since I'm not really putting on any miles on my VN750, I've asked Chad to test the prototype. I will take plenty of pictures and we will provide our impressions on the unit for CA for their website. But based on my total satisfaction with the CA board I have installed on my Nomad, I'm sure that the fine people of this group will be pleased with the quality of the unit.

I will post the info on this group when the boards are ready for ordering. You will be ordering direct from Clear Alternatives. I have no interest in this other then getting a board on my bike. I will not be making a dime on this.

I'll post more when available...
