danielrocks21 I ended up going with a vm38 myself. I can tell I'm still running a hair rich but not horrible. My manifold is very shallow so my round slide sits directly under the tank causing a serious clearance issue for the cable.

One1 Diggin the conversions. Lord knows the stock setup sucks. Velocity is my only concern to a single carb setup. I think the twins handle the velocity well, but a single will have a hell of a venturi effect which the turbulence will always distribute one cylinder more than the other no matter what. While in small doses it wonít be hugely noticeable over time there has to be consequences to putting more fuel in one and less in the other. This especially if the design causes the throat to always bias one cylinder (which it will because the carb is closer to one than the other). I donít know what all the effect will be power wise, longevity wise, maintenance wise...... but something will surface. Hand made is my favorite way to go, but without a computer designed and machined part there will be imbalances and imperfections that cause anomalies. You donít know if you donít try so i say get it done and enjoy!

VN750Rider/Jerry Very sloppy welds. A really good fabricator could probably do a good job on this. I wish the Vulcan 750 had come with one carb, but mine is running fine, and as complicated (I hate complicated) as it is, it is not likely to ever cause me any problems with the carbs. I never had carb problems with either of my other 2 Vulcan 750s. Just drain the gas out after a week, even if you think you might ride it the next day. That's the way most carbs get messed up. Owners letting them sit there with gas in them. Some carbs are easy to remove and clean, but not the ones on the VN750. So they need to be kept clean. If I am going to park my bike for more than a week, I drain the gas out of the carbs and fill them with Seafoam. I do have a single carb Sportster, and you can literally have the carb in your hands in 5 minutes. Now that's the way to design a bike.

Jason Pittenger What is the reason for a single carb conversion (except in the case of needing a replacement carb)? Is this the type of project, to see if it can be done?

Goldenmyth5 Hey guys! Sorry about not responding back sooner, been really busy. So I took some pictures of the I take manifold. It's made out of aluminum and the angles from the block for it to fit are some funky angles from kawasaki. It is connected to the bike via radiator hose to resist the gasoline. The carb setup is an all stock jet Mikuni VM38 (38mm carb) connected via hard carb mount. The stock jets I've read from another single carb setup said that they run perfect. I've noticed it running great with no rich or lean issues showing on spark plugs.
