Nice to hear from you. I made it out to the bottom portion of Lay Lake last fall - so nice! Hope to connect up this riding season. I am suffering from PMS - Parked Motorcycle Syndrome.....

Both I guess. I want a lockable compartment on the bike and sometimes I may ride without a bag, and style-wise that hole is not pretty. I can work it out so please let me know when my turn is coming up and I'll say go or not. Thanks for your time.

Yes it essentially mounts up like the kaw rack. I don't have any pics with the box because I haven't made a rack that is compatible with it yet. I am still working that out, and it is actually more complicated than it would seem.
now is it a necessity to have the box or is it a matter styling preference? Just curious.

Yeah, can't find my bags anymore either. Hell, I can sit on the rack and it won't flex. It bolts up to the frame and sissy bar. V1(no tool box) is about $80+shipping. Still working on v2.

I had mine lubed about a year ago when I had some other work done. Probably time to do it again. I dont know if you can watch them do the work, but just being in thier shop I see that the only thing between the customer area and the work area is a set of swinging doors, should not be hard to see in.

Good to know you! Thanks for the info, and looking forward to a summer of riding. I have a colleague on a V-Star that would want to join on a ride. I have a windshield on the way and I really want to get this spline done soon as well. Did you grease your spline? Does Cycle Gear let you watch when they work? Dave

Hey man, just dropping you a word to let you know that there is another Vulcan guy close by. I am in Pinson. Allways looking for people to ride with. Good luck with the bike. You can have your tires mounted at Cycle Gear in Trussville for about $20 a tire, at least thats what it was when I had mine mounted couple years ago.
