Hey I followed your seat mod for the most part, just wondering if you had any tips on a sissy bar mod? Looks like you used a Honda 1100, what was involved with making that fit? Also have you heard of anyone else using a different sissy bar on the 750? I've been searing the site for days but nobody has been too specific, any help is appreciated brother

    thanks,
    rod

Hey Chuck A. Its funny you mentioned moving south,my brother recently bought some land in SC and is down there right now spending some time. He wanted me to go with him but health problems and Dr. app. kept me close to home. Thats one reason Im trying to get as many rides in as I can, dont know whats going to happen with me. Keep riding,Paulywog.

I had to shave the ridges down on the bottom of the tongue and shorten it to fit the new tongue support I put on. For the tongue support, I found some 1/2" square tubing and cut a slot in the side of it for the tongue. Mounted it with self tapping screws. Did you check out the link in my sig? Shows most of the way I did mine. My seat fits tightly with no lack of support.

Hey Chuck, If you dont mind I may ask for some help with my Seat mod. I picked up a Vn900 seat for $20 on ebay. Just wondering with the tongue on the seat, how much did you have to shave off? and what did you use for the new tongue slot? Thanks.

Its not that complicated, just have to work at it alittle. A band saw is highly needed, got to cut down the grab rail and that will take time with a power saw of some kind. Used 1/2 I.D. square tubing in 3 places for support and some 1/8 alluminum plate and a 1/2x3in bolt and nut to hold the seat on. I also had to use an upholstery shop to reattach the seat cover where I took it loose to put in my mounting hardware. Cost me $5. I'm picky about my bike and the way my turned out was a snug, well support fit. Others here are coming up with easier ways of mounting the seat but the seat just is not well supported for 2 up riding.

Hey Chuck, I just ordered the VN900 seat for my 750. Just how big of a job do I have ahead of me? I'm pretty new to all of this, this will be my first big mod.
