    Hey Journey, I don`t know anything about the kz series of bikes. The vulcan is my first bike, and everything I know about mc mechanics I learned here.

    My opinion, for what it`s worth, is I would not put a used stator in the Vulcan unless it is hardly used and verified to be sound. It is just too much work to have to pull the engine to replace it again, if the used stator is faulty. I know what it is like to have money be tight, but this seems like false economy to me.

    I would buy a stator from Tim Perrott. He has both kz750 and vn750 rebuilt stators for sale for under $70 in this auction:

    You could email him to ask if the two are interchangable, and what precautions or tests you should make before installing a used stator. Good luck.
