i don't feel it should be a problem as the brackets are 1/8 steel and the rear tubing is pretty thick as well. from my judgement the pressure should be directly applide to horizontal bar. the struts themselves are very heavy duty as well. the angle its self is about 30 deg with the ride height i've picked, but only the road will tell, and i will keep a close eye on it.

hey i think your bobber project kicks ass... I have a Question Comment on your hardtail struts, as mine is harttail as well... the angle of your struts is not far off the angle of your swingarm and may cause a lot of stress on frame and rods... maybe its the angle of the pictures i've seen just don't wanna read about you getting shot in the ass by a strut rod on a bad bump... I hope i'm wrong as it looks great and you have a lot of paint work involved, but something I would look at a bit... please let me know how it works out...

I appologize for how long it has taken me to answer I had an accident with the bike. The front end the factory front forks with custom made triple trees made out of steel plate. The gas tank is off a vn800. noe that it is totaled I will be building a bobber. there is a company that builds a dot approved front but is very pricey about 3000. I am going back to a chopper because of the price associated. and it was so low it took away from being able to maneuver quickly.
