Sorry about that, I've had some compter problems. Right now, nothing. The DG decided to go Tango Uniform last Thursday. Sent it off for overhaul just waiting for it to come back. When it comes back it will go in a '72 Arrow. It's like me, old and high time, but it still runs.

I am surprised when folks say fairings and large windshields don't slow them down. 75 mph is plenty fast for me, too. I weigh 220 and doubt if mine would go a hundred. Not ever going to find out, either. My mileage has been as low as 42, but occasionally is in the mid fifties. I hope your good performance with all that windage means that you are smaller than me. As for the better mileage at higher elevations, that indicates that your bike normally runs a little rich. That means with rejetting (expensive) you could get even BETTER mileage on the flats. Probably not worth it, unless you seldom go into the hills. Elevation here is between 800 and 1100 feet above sea level, so mine is tuned differently than yours.
But, having heard from you, I think I will consider a larger windshield. I take it off in the summer, but in the winter it is golden. I have done nothing to the engine, and I kind of like the popping. I can always put in the clutch if it gets annoying.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. Just saw your comment. As for the fairing slowing me down...I'm not a speed demom. 75 is as fast as I want to go but Hubby has had it over 100 with no problems. My gas mileage is never under 45mpg city or strong headwind driving. Normal is 50-55. When we get to ride at higher than the sea level altitudes mileage and performance improve. I've seen 60 mpg several times! My bike is completely stock except the baffles have been punched and the heavy duty springs in the ACCTs. No marbling, ear shaves and no rejetting. It pops a little on decel but that's ok. It let's folks know I'm around! lol I tried a smaller windshield but didn't like it.
