    Hey Slim,

I have an oil question. I don't want to start a new oil thread. I don't want to search through old threads.

    In a nutshell:
•I have used Castrol 4T 10w-40 Motorcycle Oil for years.
•I want to move to a full synthetic.
•What kind of oil do you suggest?
•Is there anything I need to know/do in making the switch?

    Thanks!

Hey Slim, does the ignition switch cross to all years, or were there changes for certian model years? My daughter is buying me one off ebay but they say it only fits 87-89.

    Dear Slim,

Finally getting around to installing my grill cover.
For some reason, I cannot find the mlounting instructions you sent.
Can you e-mail them to me?
Assuming I need to purchase the mounting hardware.
Is there a thin plastic coat on the front?
Do suggest painting it silver or black, or installing as is?
    Thanks!

Well that settles it...I'm doin it! I'll probably make a variation of that same principle. I love the fact that the carbs actually become accessable, man that's worth it right there. I really think that it will work at these high altitudes. Thanks again for your help Slim!....Marty

Hey Slim, Thanks for your input! I'm not sure if this mod would be the answer for me or not but you have my attention. I ride in altitudes from 4k to 11k so jetting has been quite the issue for me. I installed an "Intela-Jet" system on my carbs attempting to cover that range. I experienced a wonderful increase in power but it's still not quite right. Doing this ear shave would change everything but I'd REALLY like to rip out that surge tank. Don't the carbs need some intake system resistance in order for them to draw fuel correctly? Marty

it was very easy...no mods to the actual turn signal housings them selves so still just as water tight. the third wire was kind of tough to feed through, but with a little KY and a squinted eye she slipped right on through. took me 20 minutes to do the conversion from time i started till the time i completed...

Ohh and the wires just hook together under the seat on the shifter side of rear fender...if you need a wiring diagram of the turnsignal system?

Hi Slim. Thanks for your help on the rear turns. I posted you a question on the same post, but in case you don't get a chance to see it, I'm sending you this message too.

Was it easy to fish the wires through, and did you have to cut out an opening? And is the assembly still just as water tight? I'm hoping there's room enough to fish the wires through inside the rear turn signal assembly and the stalks they're attached to without having to cut or modify anything. Once I'm through I shouldn't have a problem making connections to the running/brake lights, that is as long as I can identify them!
