I did it the easy way and mounted them to my drilled goat belly. The HD muffler I.D. is just a bit larger than the goat pipe so I made a spacer from exhaust pipe I had in the garage. If I were doing it again, I'd use muffler tape or some other material that would form a gasket between the goat and HD muffler.
What made the project easy was the HD mufflers have 'ears' on them for mounting. All I did was run a piece of chrome flat bar steel from the rear foot peg to the muffler for a safe and secure mount.
I like the sound and no jetting of the carb was required.
