Sadly people rarely have good luck with aftermarket stators. The best bet seems to be OEM or a rewind (Tim Parrot does some, but I had bad luck with him with my VFRs stator so use at your own risk - he didn't warranty his work).
The stumbling is probably something else unless the stator is grounding into the system so bad it's messing up ignition.
