Yeah ditto on the aged tires. I think 5 years is recommended, 3 for sportier, grippier tires. I know 8 is long, the "ingredients" that make it a good tire are pretty much weathered out by now. There are some good threads around here about good, affordable tires, if they're not in the budget.
