I had a Filipino drill instructor for basic training. He couldn't say f's they came out as P's. So when he would say Philpot (pronounced Filpot) he'd say "Pilpot what the puck are you doing." Needless to say I did quite a few push ups because I'd laugh.

It's probably a good thing I never served in the military, because with my sense of humor and the way my brain interprets funny ideas, I'd most likely laughed my way to a court martial.

So was undecided about painting the engine black but I DID get wraps on the beast this past weekend. Took the baffles off of course and I stopped at the goat's belly. I used high temp spray to coat the pipes before wrapping them. Sprayed a bit too much on the left side so it still is burning off a bit, but I think it looks clean!

Would anyone suggest spraying the goat's belly black with some of the same high temp spray?

Make sure you spray. The silicone on the wraps to keep the moisture from rusting the pipes

Have any of you attempted to paint your engine without removing it, but rather just taping the hell out of it and covering holes before hitting with a rattle can?

Ideally, I'm sure removing the engine would be best, but a) I don't have a garage, and b) I'm sure I could disassemble it without a problem...but putting it back together...that would be a whole other story, and I'm sure it would be a small fortune to hire that kind of job out.

Anyways, looking forward to reading about your experiences.
