Lower fork paint?

What sort of paint should I use on my lower forks? I need to pull them to replace the oil seals, and I'm thinking of painting them black while I have them off.

Not even once. I'm not much for very shiny things, even all of my guns are black. I'm even thinking of getting upper fork boots to tone down the shine some.

On another note, looking just now I see that the previous owner apparently had the forks apart at some point and didn't reinstall the dust covers.

Try some of that Dip It rubber stuff first.....if you don't like it, or it wears down, you can just peel it off and repaint the fork.
