I was replacing the controls with ones off another VN (mine were all sun faded) that already had them broken off. I get no issue with slippage

is the bars I run - Black. I used the clutch cable of a 77-80 KZ1000 Ltd

This is actually really interesting to me.

I have aftermarket bars on mine and the clutch cable is way too long.
Ive been trying to find a custom clutch cable but for an 87 vulcan.. well..

Was the KZ1000 clutch cable a direct match? Do you by any chance know
what the difference was in the length? I may be able to do this on mine.

Thanks!

It's a direct fit, few inches shorter. I don't have exact measurements.

Did some digging around for Clutch Cables,
for anyone interested, here is what I have found:

Vulcan 750 OEM 52 long, 3.25 Travel
https://www.magnumshielding.com/inde...roduct_id=1558

KZ Stock Cable 50.5 Inches, 3.5" Travel
https://www.z1enterprises.com/product/TU06-3002

KZ Short Cable 46.5 long, 3.25 Travel
https://www.z1enterprises.com/product/TU06-3044

I will most likely be ordering the KZ Short Cable for mine.
I believe my current cable (Motion Pro OEM VN750 Clutch Cable)
is about 5" too long. Im going to double check this weekend and
if the measurements add up, Ill get the KZ Short and report back.
