Stock to Wild Bobber
Hey everyone, I joined this forum a few months ago when I first picked up my 94 VN750. I have been reading a lot about these bikes and all the information has been very helpful. I have had the typical problems, rectifier went bad, carbs kept flooding out. It was getting very frustrating because I wasn't able to ride because of the problems so I decided to hell with it and tore the bike down and re-worked everything. Here is a list of everything I did followed by the before and after pics. Hope you enjoy, all comments and questions are welcome
Tore bike down to rolling chassis
rebuilt wiring harness
lowered headlight
removed goat belly
sportster mufflers
rebuilt carbs
(put all back together and just wasn't happy with it)
took off sissy bar
shortened seat
removed blinkers
(still wasn't happy)
removed sportster mufflers ran straight pipes
made new shock mounts and lowered bike
removed gauges for clean look
(sounds great, runs great but something missing)
removed fenders and fuel tank
painted engine flat black
painted fenders and tank (gloss black and airbrushed old school flames)
reassembled bike (now I am almost happy)
ran header wrap on pipes
relocated license plate to left side of bike
added skull trailer hitch plug that works as brake and tail light
(now I am happy)
all work I did myself at my shop.

Looks good brother. I love the lowered headlight look. If your intrested look at a mean streak seat, it flows a lot better with the bikes lines. Other than that it looks great.

Nitro: thanks man!
Oledirtydoc: I really appreciate it
Spots: That seat looks great man! I was thinking of going a route like that but I am actually making a twisted sissy bar that I am gonna attach that will go with the seat. (the woman wants back support)

Wolfie, Thanks a lot brother! I almost ran some von dutch style on the rear fender but went with the skull tail light instead. I gotta take some pics so y'all can see the header wrap around the pipes, it really sets it off plus I also painted my front rim and forks and it totally changed the look of the front.
I hate the carb set up on these bikes, I too have wrestled with the idea of either a one carb set up or individual carbs. I can send ya some of my designs I came up with and see what ya think. A blower on these bikes would look amazing!
Nice Flame job, bet you done that before. Very uplifting. Good. I like the rear set top shocky mounts, brought it down a bit. Hows the side stand ? much of a change to it;s operation?
