My VN700 Odyssey...

I got the bug to customize sum'n, I did my Yamaha Big Bear 400, (not going to bore you with all the details) Finished about a month, I traded it for a BMW K1100rs, brought it home and had it stripped the next day and started to hunt down parts and everything for a complete service, the more I learned, the more I needed, not to mention a full LED conversion, as well as upgraded electricals, body work that will feature custom finish and carbon fiber accents. which brings me to my girlfriend and her desire to have her own ride e

I traded a lawnmower and a trailer for this VN700. My gal is a tiny lil' thing at only 5'1" 110# she was stretched out on her toes holding it up. So first goal was to make it fit her. I'm starting with a fairly complete subject, 1 box of goodies from a member here, and some from eBay, I need a battery and a couple of smalles and it should be ready to ride. I lowered the front 1", cut down and narrowed the seat into a solo (I'm picking up a walking foot sewing machine to sew leather, so I will be covering the seat, as well as the Corbin gun-slinger on my bimmer )
I just finished installing the rear shocks in my 2nd pair of homemade shackles, 1st set were too low Mission accomplished, she can, not only sit with her feet flat, she can stand up off the seat
I changed handlebars also to a lower, wider, more swept back set.
Wait for it... wait for it...
Along with carbon fiber accents it with be based in crimson red and then hydrographic skulls applied to the body parts for a one of a kind bike

Takes too long for pix from my phone to come through to my email so I can load them...
But after my mock up I stripped it back down and then some, the whole front end, my gal came out and took a look, LMFAO, she had an expression like she had just rolled the ice-cream off her cone. She is thinking now it's gone the path of the BMW and it'll be drawn out 3-4 months, not so, I'll have everything detailed and painted tomorrow, less body parts they need a couple more days, I still need to cover the seat and pick up a battery and she'll be ready to ride, I'm thinking next week

Yeah, wish I had a picture of that.
LMAO, she really did just drop her ice cream on the floor just now
Okay here are pics of it as far as I stripped it, and updated re-assembly.

This week I'll do the carbs, pick up a battery, order my material for the seat, and finish the paint and hydrographics

UPDATE!! I know, been a while

Been busy and waiting on parts and supplies, but I'm getting close
I ordered a motorcycle tire attachment for my manual tire changer, as well as 2 new, oversized tires. I have them mounted. Got red & black vinyl and a heavy duty sewing machine and made a good, not perfect, 1st attempt at recovering a seat (including a gel insert) e I rplaced fuel inlet fittings, cleaned carbs, installed new lines, & changed fluids.
But the real time consumer has been the paint finish. I painted, stripped, repainted, stripped to bare metal, primed, wet sanded, painted candy apple red, dipped in skulls pattern, & clear-coated. I did a trial fit/mock up. I still need to wet sand with 1500 and buff. But it's looking pretty cool
girlfriend bought a stainless radiator cover and a few sticker, yet to be slicked on. Does this look like any run of the mill Vulcan?

Looks pretty sick man! If you don't mind my asking, how much did the hydrographics run?

Nice paint! Looks flawless from here.

Good candidate for the skull graphics that go on the lower forks? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Vul...a722b9&vxp=mtr
