I shaved the stock seat down and cut the back part off a ways back. I had a buddy weld a nut into each frame tube hole to run bolts through a 90 degree bracket on the bottom of the seat pan. Since then I made a solo seat out of the stock seat and a 900 seat for when I want a passenger. When the solo seat is in use it has no hold down other than the hook on the front and I haven't had any issues running that way although it isn't the safest.
