1990 VN750 restoration

Well working on restoring my bike now. I pulled off both fenders, fuel tank, and the side caps that go under the seat next to the battery. Got the fuel tank sanded down nicely, and did what was said to do in the one threat about the battery charger and the mixture. That works so well, but I'm going to get some of that fuel tank coating and coat the inside of the tank again. I'm undecided on the color that I want to paint the bike, but I'm thinking right now a dark blue metallic color.

I'm putting the rest of the bike in storage till I get my taxes back, and I'm going to take it to a bike shop and have all the problems with the motor taken care of.

It should be pretty nice when it's done though. I'm going to throw some pictures in the album on here so check them out if you want. The album right now is just the restoration one and once it gets ready to ride I'll make another album for it.

Lol sorry about that I thought I put the link to the pictures in my signature last night, but I didn't. I got the link in my signature now for the pictures, and there is only one picture of the bike in there right now cause I still have to re size all the other pictures that I took of work that has been done so far. I'll have those pictures up here as soon as I can.

Here`s another idea for paint. Take a look at this "Marbelized" tank and see what you think. I love the look and would like to get a spare tank to try it out my self.

That's really cool looking, but it does seem really hard to do though. I got some old car parts I can mess with and see how it all turns out and see if I like it enough to do to the bike.

If you need to line the tank, I recommend this product over any other: http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/epoxygas.htm

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Honestly, I like the original color of the bike. 'Course, I'm partial to red. Maybe doing the original color with the marbleizing effect that Ol Hoss suggested would be pretty cool.

Thank you for putting that link on here. I took a look at that website, and I really loved the information that they gave about their product. I'm going to purchase it in a couple of months. Thank you again for letting me know about that product.

I don't like the original color of the bike to much myself. I'm leaning towards a blue metallic color right now on the whole bike. I got a buddy of mine that is really good at air brushing, and he's going to take care of the graphics that I'm wanting to put on the bike. I'm wanting to have tribal starting on the front fender working back to the tank then the side caps, and finally ending on the rear fender basically having it one continues design that flows together.

Now as far as the stock stickers (Kawasaki and Vulcan) I'm not going to put those stickers back on the bike. I want to do that in Old English text and probably going to be done in a silver color. That's just a couple of ideas that I have working right now. There is other changes that I'm going to make to the bike, but those are yet to be fully decided upon.

Got the bondo work done on the tank. Started to prime it, and sadly the bondo job isn't perfect as far as the curves of the tank goes. You can kind of see the flat spots on it. All and all though it's not that bad of a job. I'll throw some more pictures on here in a little bit if anyone wants to see how it looks.

Of course we want to see. I always find it interesting, not only what people have done to their rides, but also of how they did it.
