Looking at mesh jackets. Advice?

Hi all, I'm looking into buying a mesh jacket for the impending heat of doom.

I'm looking at the cheapest one in leatherup.com

http://www.leatherup.com/p/Mens-Moto...et/115575.html

and one that is just $10 more

http://www.leatherup.com/p/Mens-Moto...ket/53267.html

What do you guys think about them? I know they're nowhere near top of the line, but I only have around $100 to spend.

Is there another jacket you'd recommend over these that isn't that much more expensive?

I've tried choosing the lightest colors I could find. Using a black jacket wouldn't be that cool with the rising temperature. I guess in that respect the second jacket is better.

Awesome. Thanks!

Did you order your jacket one size up like a lot of people mention in their reviews or did you go by the measuring chart?

I bought a leather jacket from leatherup.com and it's ok. The sleeves are too short, it doesn't vent, an the should strap snaps are weak. I had a Joe Rocket textile jacket a couple years back that I liked alot. Matched my red/black KLR650 nicely.

I'd like to go back to a textile jack for the summer and use my leather one for colder rides.

Take a look at this jacket. Looks like my leather one. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...-0-Jacket.aspx

I only understand what I don't understand.

I have the same Jacket as the first one you linked to.I ordered it on line and I would recommend going by the size chart and then up one size.Be careful with, the zipper on that jacket it is plastic and can be damaged fairly easily.

I am getting ready to have the zipper replaced in mine but it is a few years old.I like mine a lot... after getting the right size .

If you see it on my bike I did it

Cool. I usually wear medium, so I guess I'll have to order the large. I will still measure myself and see what the chart says first though, then go up a size from there. Thanks!

Can somebody help me out with the measurements? Looking at the chart, I don't even fit the small size.

Chest size, measuring with arms held up to the sides at shoulder height and around the chest, I get about 41 inches.

Waist... where the hell is the waist measured at? Belt line or upwards like the ladies measure it/ Wherever I measure it's less than the 42 inches for the small size anyway. Unless I'm thinking about it all wrong here.

Ceal, If only you were an XL and needed a 2XL. I have four textile jackets. All have two liners in addition to the shell. they were all over two hundred but on sale in the one sixty area. You could verify it online. I have one which is an XL that still has the tags on it. I'm looking at 100 dollars for the XL. I bought all of them at a Going out of business sale.

As far as the sizing chart send the link and I'll take a look at it...not that I'd know but maybe I can help. I would buy a size up if you are buying with liners. Other's have more experience with mesh jackets without liners so I couldn't tell you what size to get.

The sizing chart is in the same links that I gave on the first post. Same sizing chart for both jackets. I looked up how to measure chest and waist and it looks like I'm doing it right... maybe I'm just tiny lol. I guess I'll go with a medium.

I'm measuring myself though and that can't be too accurate. I'll wait 'til my gf gets home and see if she gets the same results.

Sounds like a plan Ceal. The sizing seems true to measurement from some of the reviews I read. I read you're a teacher. I'm a HS teacher as well. What do you teach?
