Rumble Through the Tunnels, Norfolk to Portsmouth, VA

Anybody plannning or thinking about participating in this event on October 13? It's part of "Fleet Week" for the Tidewater area Navy and Marines. This event is a fundraiser for the Hampton Roads Navy and Marine Core Relief Society. Advance ride tickets are $10. Here's the link for info -

It says its a ride of Harley Davidsons but any make is welcome - it's a fundraiser, after all! If my bike is back together by then (and running well!), I am planning on riding in it with my son-in-law on his Triumph. Should be lots of fun!

I can't count how many times I've run that tunnel in my car when I lived in Norfolk... Kinda scary on a bike I bet (that time in my life was "bm - before motorcycle"). Wish I was in the area to do the run but it is kinda far from Chicago for a fundraiser...

Bumping this back to the top - Anybody in Tidewater, NVA or SE VA thinking about going?

If I get my bike finished in time it will be it's first group ride after it's metric bobber transformation! (That's why I need to get the seat padded and comfy!) I'll be on the lookout for other VN750s.

Going from manassas, eh?

I saw this earlier in the week and tossed it out because I wasn't sure about doing it solo. Unfortunately I've already signed up to head Ohio-way that weekend instead.

Speaking of, if anyone is planning on being at Cedar Point on Oct 13th, let me know.

Yeah, Manassas. I am going to trailer down on Friday night. I don't have enough miles on it after the mods I've done (actually still doing!) to trust riding it down and back.

Have fun in Ohio!

Those tunnels weren't as scary as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel back when it was just one lane going north and one going south. Use to ride it on my 650 Nighthawk to visit family. 17 miles of no place to pull over and having tractor trailer trucks buffeting you around coming from the other direction.
