Biketoberfest 2013

Who's going this year? October 17-20th. The wife and I are planning to head down on Friday and Saturday. Friday will probably just be the two of us. Saturday I'm trying to recruit as many of my riding buddies as possible. So far it looks like we have 3 bikes and a Can Am Spyder riding down.

So who's going, which days, and where are you planning on hanging out?

Heh, well it's DOWN for me. I'm southern (by the grace of God) and just about everywhere is "down".

Had a great time yesterday. We hit Destination Daytona first (Bruce Rossmyer Harley Davidson and all) and then went to main street. No pics yet, have to get them off the wife's phone.

On main street saw a guy that was just getting ready to pull out on a VN750. White flake with blue flames. Was really nice to see something that wasn't a black harley bagger...cause they were freaking everywhere! Anyway, not sure if he is a member on here or not, but in case you are and read this...hey again.

We were going to go back again today, but I don't think we are going to make it back down. Probably for the best. As many bikes as were there yesterday, and there were a ton, there will be even more today.

Not quite sure what you are meaning with that last comment. Are you saying that there will be too many bikes there today (Saturday)?

Too many...well too many black harley baggers that look the same. That and you would be walking your bike down A1A, Main Street, and pretty much any area within a few miles of any location of interest.

It's really cool to see all the choppers and customs and the twerking girls dancing on tables at the outdoor saloons, but it's gets pretty old having to duck walk everywhere you want to take the bike.

The Roar to the Shore rally in NJ this year had 80,000 bikers last year and this year they had hoped for 90,000. I agree that there are usually an over abundance of black HD baggers but up here most just park for a few hours and walk the miles of bike lines looking for the few that stand out because they are not black or HD or even baggers. There is the usual slow ride up and down the main road but if you want to get someplace particular without doing a slow go you can just slip one or two blocks over and make some time. Maybe in time the number of bikers at this NJ rally will increase to the point that you are referring to and it may not be as much fun. I have gone to RTTS for the last three years and I intend to stay with it for some time to come.
