N. Florida wayfaring motorcycle wanderer rest stop

Hey all I just wanted to let everyone know that anyone from this forum traveling through Florida on I-10 will always have a couch and a beer if they want to crash at our place. I work on bikes and restore them in my spare time, so we have plenty of tools and supplies if you need an on the road repair, and a place to lay your head after a long day cross countrying. We are active couchsurfers and always enjoy meeting like-minded folk.

We live off exit 217, feel free to send an email [email protected] if you would like to swing by.

-Max

Thanx for the invite and kind hospitality, but I doubt I will ever be that far out of Texas.

Well I mainly stick to vintage Japanese bikes. My main ride and true love is my 85 Suzuki GV1200, but the driveway also contains the following, at the moment:

83 Honda Magna 1100
82 Yamaha Virago 920
80 Honda CB750
95 Vulcan 750
93 Suzuki Katana 600
81 Honda Goldwing 1100
80 Honda Goldwing 1100
73 Honda CB750
78 Honda CB750

Altho to be honest 2 or 3 of those are currently being parted out on ebay, the rest are either riders or being restored.

At the age of 26 I am somewhat of a collector, I love old bikes, I work on them for free for my friends, and I work on them for beer money for strangers.

I am surprised that you don't have the 900 dual trans honda.
I really like the 750 4 inline 80's honda with the four mufflers.

Yeah I have actually had my eye out for one for a while, I rode one a couple years ago and found the 12 gears to be fun, but superfluous. I am however attracted to similar unusual experiments in motorcycling history, I really have my eye out at the moment for a hondamatic, as well as a turbo seca.

Florida...Mmmmmm...The last time I rode in that wonderful state was back in '89 when I lived in Orlando. I'm green with envy being stuck up here in the Pac North Wet. Just looked outside and...yup, still raining.

Oh yeah its really nice down here for sure, today was the first day of rain in 3 weeks of 70 degree weather, and our area has an endless amount of long, twisty, beautiful, cop-free roads. Of all the places I have been, this is definitely the most rider-friendly. Can't say I mesh well with the local politics or society, but the roads and weather are top-notch, just about a 12 month riding season.
