Detroit - Niagara Falls group ride?

Ok so I've been living in Michigan for a few years now, and this is the furthest I've lived north before. Since living here I've never actually been across the border and I've never went to Niagara Falls even though it's only 4 1/2 hours away.

So I was thinking it might be a cool ride to make on my bike. Then I started wondering if there maybe there might be others in the Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Flint areas that might be up for doing a weekend run sometime this summer over to Niagara Falls.

I was thinking we could head out one day camp somewhere around the falls then head back the next day.

Anyone up for doing this?

need more info! lol

sounds good.

we have something like that here in Cleveland, Ohio. it's called the "Lake Loop Run" or something like that. it's were people ride around Lake Erie, starting in somewhere around Cleveland, Ohio and head East up through Buffalo, Ny. to the falls up into Canada and start to ride back west, to "loop" back around Lake Erie, to MI., then ride South to Ohio and finish the "loop" by heading East back to Cleveland, Ohio.

at one time they held races around the lake. it would be the same route (more or less) around the "Lake", but it was a timed race and you had to ride a 200cc or smaller motorcycle! I'm sure that was an interesting ride. lol

I have talked to a few friends that ride that said they'd someday like to do the "Lake Loop". the thing is, now you have to get a passport to get across the boarder.
so which way were you looking on riding to the falls? if you were looking on riding through Cleveland, Ohio (route 90), let me know and maybe I can meet up and ride for a while with your group.

if it goes vroom or boom, I LIKE IT!

That sounds like a cool run to make, would love to do that sometime.

No info yet, jsut trying to see who would be interested.
I was thinking of going to Canada. I don't have a passport, but I have an enhanced DL which will allow me to cross the boarder here. I've had the enhanced DL since I've been here, but have been leary of crossing the boarder due to some reasons I'd prefer not to mention publicly. Those reasons hopefully will soon be resolved, so now I'm looking to do a ride through.

Sounds cool...but I need 2 passports, and I don't have the spare $$$ for that lol. I miss the days when you just needed a driver's license and a birth certificate to cross the border.

You do not need a passport if driving into Canada ( at least from New York state), An Enhanced Drivers license is all you need. It cost me $30.00 last Summer.
