Question about an 800

Hi all.... with all this talk about cam chain adjusters I have been thinking about a noise my bike has been making for the last 10K or so. At speficic RPM's it will buzz, and today I noticed what sounded like 'slap'.

How does one check the status of the auto cam chain adjusters?

Fun times lie ahead I feel.

is the 800 the same as the 750's as far as this goes? I would convert to MCCT in a heart beat if I knew that was true.

Thanks, Ill check it out

We need to find an exploded manual view of yer engine...they seem to be in the same place on yers, but I see no external housing...there may be a different method of tensioning on yours...I'll try to find an online PDF and look into it...

I have the shop manual at home, just need to dig it out and take a look....

One of my noises is the hiway foot peg vibrating, but there is another sound at 4K RPM that sounds weird to me, its only under load too....

You could check here for diagram...

I might take the 92151 out and see how bad the 12048 looks LOL.

But yeah, other then this, the only other thing on my mind is checking valve clearance again, did that once at 20K now almost 50K....

Got a new windshield on the way anybody interested in an old scratched up one?

While I am swapping that I am going to paint the winshield brackets flat black, the conversion to flat black bike begins.... I always said once I hit 50K I will transform this sucker.
