Difference between VN700 & VN750

Quote:
I understand that for the most part the only difference between the 700 and at least the early 750's is the cc of the engine. Is this true?
Front brake master cylinder changed shape in 91 so the front brake lever is different also. They stopped using air assist front forks sometime after the first couple yrs and the wiring harness is different from the models with self canceling turn signals and those without. Other than that nothing I can think of. The 86 is exactly the same except for the motor paint and cc's Jax

Hey there Preach, most of the parts on my 85VN700 and 97VN750 are interchangable. The brake fluid resovior is different, as is the oil filter size of the threads on the filter. But for the most part i can change everything else.

I also have a VN 700. The only parts so far as I know that does not fit our bike Are the wide blade chrome levers. Apparently the brake lever changed in '89? Somewhere around that year. Wes
Correct! 1985 = A1; 1995 = A11; 2005 = A21.

The 1985 U.S. Vulcan was a 700cc because of the legislation of a tax
on 750 cc+ imports to give Harley a more competitive market. 1986 was
the 1st 750 US Vulcan.
