Soldering

Now a solder question The absolute, biggest, most important thing about soldering is to make sure your soldering iron is clean. Use a damp sponge or cloth and wipe it down completely. I got into the habit of wiping when I had finished each solder joint. Once you have it clean, melt some solder onto the iron, and then place it under the wires. The solder on the iron make much better contact with the wires themselves and they heat up 10 time faster. A little solder on top, and watch that solder get sucked into those wire strands... its great once you get the knack. Jangles
