I came up with the following list for "everyday" riding. Having a cell phone to call a freind to come get you is at the top of the list by the way...lol
  • Locking pliers ( leatherman "crunch")
  • Metric socket set with wrench and 6" extension bar and universal joint
  • Set of metric combination wrenches
  • Multi-blade screw driver
  • 10 ft. of wire (14 gauge)
  • Small roll of tape
  • Allen wrenchs
  • Spark plug wrench ( sorry do not know size..use stock one)
  • Small flashlight (AA 2 cell)
  • Several paper towels and a tube of Hand cleaner and a few non metric wrenchs if you need them for "american" accessories.......

Get a "Leatherman Tool". Or a knockoff of it. That will illiminate alot of other single tools you have listed. A small roll of black electrical tape always comes in handy too. Flemdog
Nice little tool kit I picked up ob eBay..
Cruztools EconoKIT M-2 is light and compact, yet still very capable. Combination wrenches, adjustable wrench, 6 in 1 screwdriver and many additional items provide a lot of flexibility. Import tools have a lifetime warranty WD-40, zip ties and other handy road-side items are included 1000 denier cordura pouch with durable YKK zipper measures 9.5" x 4" x 1.5

Here is what I take.
  • 12V air compressor
  • Tire repair / plugger kit
  • Siphon hose for fuel
  • Tools- SAE/metric socket set, screw drivers, pliers, allen wrenches, crimper/wirecutter/stripper
  • Tie-wraps
  • Butt and in-line connectors
  • Electrical tape
  • 4 Spark Plugs (NGK DP7EA-9)
  • Digital voltmeter with leads
  • Kawasaki tool kit (has spark-plug socket)
  • Extra fuses w/fuse puller
  • Right-angle valve stem for gas station air pumps
  • Digital pressure gauge
  • (2) 1157 bulbs
  • (2) Halogen tail light bulbs (part of flashing unit)
  • H4/9003 halogen headlight bulb
  • Sea-foam, one can (Napa)
  • Mini jumper cables
  • Small air-pump for shocks
  • Air mixture screwdriver

I started a practice awhile back so that when I had to go to the toolbox to get a tool to work on the bike, be it pliers, tape, allen wrenches, sockets, open-end wrenches, I just kept it with the bike tools. If it turned out I needed them somewhere else around the house I would make a note to buy the replacement next time I was a Sears. That way I had the right sized tool with the bike without carrying around a full set of allen wrenches and still had a full set for the home. Gandalf
Here's what I have in my toolkit
  • Small First aid kit
  • Small flashlight
  • Subway sandwich bags (keeps feet warm/dry)
  • Complete socket set 4mm-19mm, and 5/32"-7/8"
  • Two spark plug sockets (18mm and 5/8")
  • Utility Knife
  • Channel lock pliars
  • Full set of Allen wrenches
  • Wire cutter/stripper
  • Regular pliars
  • Large & small needle-nose pliars
  • Small pointed vise-grips
  • Swiss army type knife
  • Several phillips and regular screwdrivers of various sizes
  • Sharpie marker pen
  • Wire and electrical tape
  • Duct tape
  • Telescoping magnet stick
  • Small wire brush
  • Tire repair kit
  • Metric wrenches: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17mm
  • Standard wrenches: 5/16, 3/8,
  • Assorted nuts, bolts, and washers
  • Twist ties
  • Spare set of plugs
  • Spare bulbs (H4 headlight, 1156, 1157)

most of it fits in a soft leather "shave kit" that I bought at Wal-Mart. The socket set has its own little pouch, and a few of the items are neatly stowed in my saddlebags along with my rainsuit and other stuff I might need. Because of the weight, I carry the sockets and "shave kit" in my Tour Trunk, which rests on the luggage rack.
