A few weeks ago I posted an oil leak I had. I used a tub & tile silicone that started to leak in 2 days. Didn’t take well to oil, heat and vibration. Silicone is silicone, right? Wrong! I did some research and came across PERMATEX® ULTRA COPPER® Hi-Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. If anyone ever asks for a specific type of silicone for our scoots, at least we'll have an answer:

I just put it on about an hour ago. I will let it cure until Thursday. If this does not work I will permanently weld the friggin thing to the housing. Just kidding. Stay tuned.......... Frank Braun Chicago, IL '85 VN700
