Hola riders

Just got my first Vulcan750 after needing something for rides the beach or mountains. The klx 250 wouldn’t make It. Pretty happy with it, 2002 with 23,000 nice and zippy . However I feel like it’s getting really bad gas mileage like half a tank in a hour. Any tips ? Thanks gang

Would probably be best to get some numbers and calculate your mpg. Fill 'er up, reset your trip meter, and go from there. You can't really tell much from the gauge as it wouldn't be as accurate as a car fuel gauge. . . . If you're riding hard or doing lots of riding in the mountains, you might only be getting 40mpg or so? But, you won't know 'til you do your homework!

Enjoy that new bike! Wish the weather was a little better here. We got 3" of snow today. . . .

Phoenix is located in what is called "Valley of the Sun" (Central AZ)...
Flagstaff & other Northern area's somewhat mountainous, are colder, do have snow and entail snow ski resorts. Flagstaff so far this year has measured 11.6" of snowfall...."normal" for this time of year sb 54.3"......

Thank goodness for the Great Colorado River and Northern states snowfall !

Yeah, reckon the tank from "F" to "E" on the gauge (about the point where you need to switch to reserve) is ~2.5 gallons, going an average of like 50 mph for an hour, taking approx 1/2 of the tank is about 1.25 gallons, that's roughly 40 mpg which is a good number for these bikes. Twin carbs on a v-twin that likes to rev is not very conducive to good gas mileage. Mine gets about 36 because of how fat I jetted it...

Earshave+Rejet (38/135) – NGK Iridiums – MCCT Conversion – Slipstreamer S03 Windshield – Custom Extended Backrest – Custom Highway Bars – MOSFET R/R – LED Underglow – Volt+USB In-DashTwo-Wire & Blue-Wire Mod – Satin Black Engine Paint – Dampers Parts - Jets: Main=99101-393(#132 stock)/Pilot=n424-22 Pilot(#38 stock)
