Hi from mid mo

Hi, Im new on here and just starting to get back into riding after about 2 years of no bike. I have mostly owned hondas, a vt100, 500 shadow and a gl1100, and a HD 883 sportster, but they got sold a few years back when I thought a boat would be more fun (I was wrong).

I recently bought a 01 vn750 as a winter project and plan on giving it to my wife as a christmas/birthday gift. Currently the bike has 9800 miles on it, but has been sitting unmaintained for 4 years and is in need of some serious rehab.

This forum seems full of excelent members and tons on info Ive already used. Im happy to be a part of it and contribute

Never had a question that the collective wisdom couldn’t figure out. Good luck!

Funny you ask that I didnt originally plan on gifting the bike to her but she already complains about my projects taking up space in the yard. Gifting it to her allows me to ride it occasionally while avoiding the "OMG where are you going to put THAT playtoy?!?" Conversation.

But since I was buying parts at the local dealership and eyeballing their shiney new models, Im currently figuring up how many of my project need to go to afford a new bike

The only place I can take my ride for its yearly inspection is also a new-bike showroom. Nothing to do for a couple hours but stare at shiny things and weep at their sticker prices.
