Greetings from MO

Hello All,

I've been lurking a bit and thought I'd register and intro myself. My name is Joe (JC) and I live just south of St. Louis. I currently ride a VStar 1100. Due to some very unfortunate circumstances I will soon be adding a VN750 to the stable. So I've been reading a bit on the forum to get up to speed on the bike. It's been sitting since late last fall and will probably need a good carb cleaning in addition to a good bath and all the fluids changed, etc.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I did look through the Verses a bit. It looks like tons of good info. I'm picking the bike up this weekend. So I'm sure I'll be putting the Verses and forum to good use.

The Vstar is probably going to be the next ride going in the stable.. either a 650 or the 1100 not sure which one yet. my buddy rides a fixed up 1100 and my VN750 still blows him outta the water.

Don't you mean Fortunate circumstances?

Unfortunately no. It was my brothers bike, and he recently lost a lengthy battle with cancer.

Thanks. I don't believe he was a member here. He was not big on internet forums of any kind. I even tried to drag him into a few and it just wasn't his thing.

I'm very interested in how the 750 will compare to the 1100. Prior to the 1100, I had a Honda 750 Ace, and I know the 1100 has a lot more power than the Ace did. But I also think the VN750 had more power than the Honda as well. At least that's what I always heard when we were out riding...

I will say I like the 1100 a lot. The 1100 is great on the highway. It's geared a bit lower than my old 750 and carries more weight. My Honda would get pretty buzzy over 65 or so.
