First weekend with 02 Vulcan

Just joined. I've had a trying year, dealing with cancer. After finishing chemo I told my wife I wanted to buy a bike. I looked at several Shadows, BMW's and several Boulevard's before I stumbled upon a 2002 Vulcan with 11k on it. It felt right from the first time I sat on it. Bought it on Friday and put 160miles on it last weekend. Seems to be in good shape. I did get a vibration/noise in first the other morning. Searching this site I think it is the "coffee grinder" issue that I have seen on this site. All else seems to be ok on it. I guess this is a common issue and I've seen some suggestions on how to improve the issue. Anyway, the weather this weekend in Oregon is going to be great, so I'll be out somewhere on it.

Welcome to the forum, just let the bike warm up properly before you set off and the coffee grinding and grabbing should be a lot better.

Not my first bike but it has been a while

I'm getting back to ridng after about 30 years. I raced motocross from age 7-19. I rode a Maxim for about three years while in the military. Then came college, jobs, family and I just forgot that I liked it so much. Anyway, riding in Oregon is great if the weather cooperates.

Congrats and Welcome to the VN750 Insanity!

Cancer can bite me! I've lost three family members and 4 friends to the beast. I have a cousin and mother in law whom are survivors and my dad was recently diagnosed with prostate C. It is a MF'er and I do what I can through Relay 4 Life.
