New Member Checking in

Hi all, New at this forum, a little less new to motorcycling.

My name is Ken (Mercury). Wolfie found some vids I had posted of riding in the area and asked me to join a few members for a ride today. It was great, good people. They then said I should join the site, so here I am.

As for my background: I am 32. Been riding since I was 20 but it was on and off. I got the permit, then laid my dad's Honda down (crazy story, not proud of it, learned a lot.). Could not take the course on a busted bike, fast forward 5 years of schooling and work I ended up taking the RENJ course - best idea ever. Got my license and then bought a used vulcan 800 drifter in 2005. Since the age of 25 I have been riding when ever I can. Recently decided to buy a house so riding has become less frequent, but still very enjoyable.

As for the bike, did some work to it and been putting the miles on it. 2005 had 1400 miles when I bought it, I am close to 46,000 now.

I like the drifter but the other day I sat on a concourse 14 sport touring, and I went "hummmm".

Lets see.... I later took the RENJ advanced riding course (you can never be too sharp especially with the people on the road today). I also took a ridelikeapro course (slow speed stuff) a great course.

That about sums it up, I try to do everything I can to the bike without taking it to the dealer (too expensive).

Anyway that's my story, this looks like a nice site, thanks for letting a Drifter join up.

Kenny
