Angry Please help 1995 vulcan 750 probléms

This is my first post on the forum. i have a 1995 Vulcan 750 that needs to be rebirthed. bought new sprk plugs and ignt coil seems fine.bought a new battery thas good to go. i cleaned the rusty gas tank and filled with gas and the petcock was leaking from the switch, and no matter weither the switch was on off or on res it kept coming out of the two forks the go to the carbs. Why? do i need a new petcock, rebuild kit, or the 5 hole o ring inside it does have some wear and tear and has crack on the inside hole to one outside hole. I jus shifted the position but still leaks and keeps pouring out uncontrolably. What should i do. My 2nd problem is if i should have to clean the carbs how do i take it off.i need instructions with pics and a diagram for. i also need the diagram or instructions with pics on how to connect the petcock back. it has three connections the two forks go to the carbs and the other 1 goes were i cant find the vacume hose or connection. how do i take carb off to clean pics and details. HELP

Check out my page on Carbs here for the removal and installation instructions.

The hoses are fairly self explanatory. The petcock has 1 vacuum line (smaller) and two fuel lines. There is a set of lines that go to a T and into the right ear. Take note of these.

Tanner, isn't there another that connects on the rear side of right carb and goes back under seat to that valve coming off the reed valves? (Think that is what it is) Second ? why would anyone block that paticular one off with a screw in that line???

04-3,200 miles bought July 2011 with 928 miles. Loaded with acessories to many to list here, see my albums for more details! I also make a custom tank bib specific for the 750 if anyone is interested, ck my albums for some pics.

Sounds like you need a rebuild kit. Cheap on eBay.

The right vacuum line goes to the emissions system, which is often removed in an act called Coastering. You block it off after you remove the reed valve/emissions control system.

Just a little bit of information I havent seen mentioned yet. The vacuume line that goes to petcock kind of acts like a switch to turn the fuel on and off. When theres vacuume on the vacuume line (engine running) it turns on the fuel. No vacuume, turns off the fuel.
