Greetings!

I sold my 81 Suzuki GS450L a month ago and so I just bought a 93 VN750 off Craigslist.

The right side cover was burned through by a wet cell battery exploding with additional damage from leaking down. I ordered a side cover from eBay, grommet, and a missing swing arm cap.

The damaged battery had been replaced by another wet cell. That's when I bought it with starting issues. I replaced the battery with a new gel cell from Sears, and it runs smoother and is a little easier to start.

The speedometer stopped functioning on day 3. So I've got a new speedometer cable on order, hopefully that's all it is.

It has some pretty loud popping when decelerating, which I intend on coastering after everything else is working, and because I can't find any marbles.

Lastly, once production of RR relocation brackets continues, I plan on getting one of those and doing that.

Whew, I think that covers everything.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks,
Dennis

How about lubing the splines on your driveshaft. Look up fergy's spline lube.

Welcome to the forum. I've got an aluminum relocation bracket I'll sell for $2 plus shipping. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Disconnect the speedo cable from the drive gears, and try spinning the speedo cable at the front wheel with your fingertips and see if the needle moves in the head.

Try using a 1/2" copper plumbing cap.

Who is making the RR relocation brackets?

Whew, I think that covers everything.

Any other recommendations?
