Lurker turned poster

Howdy.

Just bought a 2003 Vulcan 750, but had planned on the purchase for about a month and consequently, I've logged a few hours on these forums.

My dad has been riding Harleys since he could sit one and my younger brother has always owned a bike too. One of my earliest memories is being wedged between my mom and dad on the back of his scoot. I've always been interested in riding but never got on one until my ma went and got her a bike. When the weather turned cold, mom quit riding and I took the opportunity to learn on her bike. From the first time I got her bike on the open road, I was hooked. Decided I had to have my own bike, found a Vulcan and here we are.

I brought the bike home, and a new battery and half a bottle of seafoam later, she was running like a champ. Three days later I laid it over on one of our wonderful county roads that suddenly turned to gravel.

I love the bike though. She rides a little higher than what I'm used to and I'll be damned if anyone makes a solo seat for her, but she's still a great ride. A few buddies and me are looking to take a trip to Pike's Peak this summer (about 14 hours) that I'm really looking forward to.

Anyway, I thought that if I was going to lurk this place as much as I do, I might as well try and contribute some.

Welcome to the forum. Suggest you consider taking the MSF basic rider course. Will teach you a lot of things to make you a better rider and keep you safe.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!
