Cool New to the Forum, Not So New to Bikes

Hey All,

I just bought My '04 VN750 for $2300 last week. Shes got 6k miles on her and looks great. I did however change the seat up a bit and do what i guess you'd call a backrest delete. I did a write up and tried to post it but said it needed further review or something. That was yesterday. But anyways, I'm in the Air Force stationed up in Minot, ND (Not by my choice) and my job is Security Forces (MP). The weather is starting to turn for the better so I've been riding all i can. The VN is my 4th bike over a 6 year period so I'm not the most experienced person but not the least either. Hope to get to know you guys and exchance some insight and knowledge.

Cheers
PaleRider

Welcome to the forum!

There are a few "problem areas" specific to our bikes that it is worth checking up on. First would be the rear splines. A lot of time they were not greased properly from factory, and wore out very quickly. Another thing to note is the Automatic Cam Chain Tensioners (ACCTs) like to fail, even at low mileage, so a lot of us either buy Manual Cam Chain Tensioners or convert our ACCTs to MCCTs.

Other than that glad to have ya; keep the shiny side up!
