Hey kattiebobber, I haven`t done an earshave or really got my hands dirty working on my bike yet, but maybe some of these links will help you identify the hoses etc.

First link is Phil`s earshave:

The two hoses coming from the center of the carb to a "T" are the float bowl vent hoses.
This diagram shows the vent hoses on the stock system plugged into the right ear, without an earshave.

After an earshave either put a breather filter on the end of that vent hose, or tie it up out the wind flow, or the wind will cause erratic behhavior.

Two hoses going to the outside nipples on the petcock are the fuel lines.

The single hose coming from the left side carb vacuum port to the center nipple on the petcock is the vacuum source that turns the petcock on and allows fuel to flow.

The vacuum port on the right side carb should be plugged off after an earshave.
