Hello everybody. Have just won a 1986 VN750 on eBay. Picking up on Saturday. Needs engine, carbs, forks and drivetrain checking out. Then stripdown for powdercoating and paint.

My new project

Yes it was swagman. Thanks for the replies and welcomes. Will be asking lots of questions soon.
First question. It hasn't been run for 4 years. Was gonna WD40 the cylinders, turn it over by hand and then starter , once I get a battery. Any other ideas? If it doesn't start , I'll be stripping and cleaning the carbs.
Here's a link.

Been stood for 4 years

Hi guys, thanks for the welcomes.
It hasn't been run for 4 years and is 26 years old with 24,000 miles on. Was gonna spray 3 in 1 or WD40 down plug holes , leave overnight and turnover by hand. Do this a few times , before using the starter. What would you do and check???

As you say lubricate the bores try soaking over night and rotate by hand, check fuel tank for rust if it is rusty get it clean and free from rust before filling with fuel, the carbs will maybe need cleaning, check all electric connections and clean and use electrical grease, buy a new MF battery not a acid battery, check drive shaft splines, iridium plugs work well with the VN
Don't forget the oils and filters
