Smile Newbie from UK

Not an owner (yet) but looking to be.

Unfortunately there seem to be very few in good order available in the UK over the time I have been looking. Quick check on our licensing website turned up that only 100 were registered last year. That doesn't mean only a 100 in the country but that is the number on the road.

So I'll keep looking and hoping.

Cheers

Bill

Thanks Gents, South London (glamourous Croydon - just don't mention the riots) is my location.

I have found one for sale just a little pricey for 15yrs old I thought but will see how it goes.

Couple of questions since you asked .

1. whats it like on the motorway (freeway?) revving the pants off it at 70?

2. how do you get on with the tank, 13.5L I think, which means 120miles between fill ups? Which I would say isn't much?

At 65mph I'm doing about 4500 rpms. At 72 mph I'm doing about 5000 rpms. The bike likes to run at these rpms. My gas mileage averages between 48 and 54 miles per gallon. I usually fill up at 120-125 miles before going on reserve, which means there is still a gallon left in the tank.

Hi Brewster.
Welcome to the forum. It's good to see the number of uk members growing. The bikes fine on the motorway, but much more fun off it.

Welcome. The bike has plenty of acceleration at 70. In top gear, Mine is doing around 55 mph at 5,000 rpm. Above 45-50 mph the fuel economy begins to drop off (unless you are drafting).

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!
