new from pittsburgh

Just bought a 1994 Vn 750. Everything is in good mechanical order and I'll post pics soon. There are minor cosmetic things that I will address in the future. I am curious to know what sort of upgrades or concerns I should have right now. I bought an agm battery, and plan on switching to led lights because I heard there were some electrical issues with this model. And once I get my windshield, I will feel more comfortable on the highway. I was curious about maybe getting a larger tank - if there are any recommendations for that? I look forward to hearing from some of you, and I will try to catch up with some of the forums as well.

As for the tank, I am going to see how I can modify a 1500 tank to our 750.

Welcome to the Vulcan madness Doug. Is this your first motorcycle?
Check out the ten things link in my sigline below.
It has several suggestions for things that need to be checked asap.
Especially note fergy`s spline lube.
Change all fluids.

Reinforce the hinge on the toolbox on the back of the seat if you still have the cover, and use a little silicone sealant on the toolbox lock and chrome swing arm covers to keep them on the bike. Those are just a few I recall right now.

There a few threads on modifying or changing fuel tanks, but it seems there are no simple exchanges. I think you will need some metal working skills for that.

There are some pictures in the gallery of auxillary aluminum fuel tanks mounted on a luggage rack if you need serious long range capability.

Enjoy the ride on the new scoot and here in forums.
