New VN750 Member Here!

Hey fellow members,

I am a proud owner of a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan vn750.
I have had the bike for about 2 years now, my first bike was a 1978 Suzuki GS750, i bought it cheap, put alot of work into it, and rode that for about 2 years. I then sold it, and use the money for my Vulcan. I tell you, going from a 78 to a 01 bike is a big difference, the comfort level is way up there.

Anyway, I have done some small stuff to my bike. I bought it with about 6800 miles on it and now have 10500+ on it. I had a custom hitch made for it, and built a small lightweight trailer for it. It works great.

I do have a backrack and windshield on it. But i am looking for more upgrades and accessories.
If anyone can give me some good advice, tips, or links, i would appreciate it.

Here's a few things im looking for:
Radiator cover (chrome)
Nice cheap Highway bars.
Cheap floorboards/pegs.
Speakers n amp setup
LED blinkers/taillight
Cruise control
Mp3 player mount
cheap saddle bag mount bars
cheap saddle bags

And if anyone has any advice, or if anyone has special mods and custom stuff that they wanna show off, i would appreciate it.

Welcome to the site. Enjoy your ride.

For inexpensive saddle bags you might want to check LeatherUp.com: http://www.leatherup.com/c/Motorcycl...ags/2/151.html

They sent me an email about some spring sale they had going on. You'll have to search the internet for coupon codes because I deleted the email. I've bought a jacket from them but never saddlebags. The jacket was worth what I paid so I'd buy from them again.

Welcome to the forum.

Used radiator covers some times show up on ebay. Don't think they are still being made.

Nice cheap Highway bars. Don't think they exist, but again check ebay.

Cheap floorboards/pegs. Don't think you'll find what I would consider cheap anywhere unless you make your own. Look for a post by Knifemaker; think he has the plans there, and Chad sells them.

Speakers n amp setup.*

LED blinkers/taillight. *

Cruise control. A member here installed one and posted instructions and pics I believe. Should find with a search.

Mp3 player mount *
cheap saddle bag mount bars *
cheap saddle bags *

* Do a search here, you should find something.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

I'm not sure what you mean by "check out the verses lube the splines yesterday.."

I had a coworker that had a 99 Vulcan 750, he had something in the driveshaft go bad, some coupler or something, and it woulda cost him like $1000 to replace, cuz you gota buy the whole assembly and not just the coupler or something. Basically something was stripped or worn, he was told it was due to lack of lube from the manufacturer. Is this what ur talking about?
If so can u give me a link to some directions?

Find a post by fergy. He's got the tutorial for the spline lube in his signature. More than likely, your splines weren't properly lubed by the factory. Verses are the Vulcan Verses section of this forum.
