Hello riders, not sure what I bought!

I bought this from a friend for $100. It had a completely dead battery and one of the carb diaphragms had a tear in it. I have a neighbor that fixed the carbs and he got it running pretty good. The guy I got it from said it was a 750 Vulcan. The guy that worked on it said it was a 700. The title only says 1985 Kawasaki. I build 55, 56, 57 chevy cars and want to build a bobber style bike out of it. I have owned mainly dirt bikes in the past but did ride a 1983 or 84 Kawasaki GPZ305 when I was in junior high back in 86. I loved that bike and wish I could find another! Anyways, what is this bike?

Garage
typically the easy way to tell the differance between the 700 and the 750 is the color of the engine...if its aluminum it is typically a 750, if it is black, it typically is a 700... I say typically because people have been known to paint the engines different colors.

Your bike isn't stock though... the ears have been shaved, and its been coastered (I think... can't quite tell because of the lighting, can you get pics of the other side as well, I might be able to see a little clearer.) You also have the Kawasaki Fire and steel Extended backrest, and sadleman seat cover.

You have a sweet ride, and welcome to the madness... you found the best source of information on the VN700/7500 on the planet.

Welcome to the forum. As you can see already, there are helpful, knowledgeable folks here.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

The bike has been chopped on and lowered since that pic was taken. I'll post pics tomorrow.

do you not have a title? i would have thought the title would state specifics on the Vulcan.

$100 can't be beat... unless it was stolen at some point... not sure what would happen if you try to title it and it turns out to be stolen.
i think i might try to title it before i spend any money on fixing it up, cause i think if it was stolen it would probably be returned to the owner or insurance company.
