Welcome to the forum. If you have any questions, just ask. Take it easy until you become familiar with the Vulcan, it can get away from you if you're not careful!

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Welcome to the Vulcan Madness. From your opening post may I surmise you were a dirt bike rider prior to the Vulcan? Tell us a little about yourself. Young guy or old fart with a new toy? We have had several threads discussing the suitability of the vn750 as a first bike. It weighs about #525 ready to ride, and has a LOT of low end torque. If your inseam is long enough for you to comfortably reach the ground, and your legs are strong enough to push the bike back up with one leg from a fairly good lean to the side if you lose your balance a bit when stopped, the fit should be OK.

Treat the throttle with respect until you become accustomed to the power you have on tap. Take the MSF beginners course and learn to use the clutch in the friction zone. Moving off from the curb or a stop at an intersection and turning right or left with the clutch fully engaged can take a new rider into a wider than expected arc, into oncoming traffic or a ditch when the throttle is rolled on. Make it a habit to keep the clutch lever held back in the friction zone, and go easy on the throttle until you get the bike straightened out and upright. More than one new rider here has gone down from letting the clutch out too quick when rolling on the throttle.

Check out the Vulcan verses and the link below. Enjoy the ride.
