Glad to join the ride!

Thrilled with just starting to ride. Bikes would always turn my head but I never had one. Finally decided I needed something exciting! Guess you might call it a Midlife Crisis. Anyway, I am a new rider on an old Bike I love! 1986 Kaw Vulcan 750. The bike just seems to fit me perfect and I love the easy rider cruiser look it has and going through the gears is a lot of fun. I keep looking for a sixth gear but I will get past that. I am from Springfield, OH and we are having an incredible 60 degree weather and I am getting in as much riding as I can as I need the time in the seat. Finished the Motorcycle safety course which was great and I am gaining confidence with each ride.

The one piece of info I need is any recommendation on LED turn signals would be helpful. I've got a maintenance free battery. My turn signals work but need to be replaced. The site is great! Thanks!

Welcome. Nope, not gonna get past looking for 6th. Many, if not most, here still trying to shift to it. You'll need an electronic flasher unit if you switch to LED turn signals. Do a search here for various options.

Led brake lights require no mods.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Hey there, and welcome to the forum (and the Vulcan 750 world). Lots of good info here. About your LED turn signals, I recommend the following:

THESE for the front turns. They're Custom Dynamics Eclipze LED turns. They shine at 100% brightness as running lights and blink off as turns. This is different than the stock bulbs which burn at about 30% brightness as running lights and blink at 100% as turns.

and THESE for the rear. They're Dynamic Clusters, on the bottom of the web page. They work as Turns/Brake/Tail lights.

with THIS flaher unit (read THIS POST)

Hope this helps, my friend...
