New member, just saying 'hi'

Hi. I just signed up for this forum yesterday. I have been lurking around for a while, and figured I would make it official.
I ride a 1993 VN750. It is actually my second one. Back in 1997 I bought a 93 and rode it for a couple of years. I had a bad crash on it and the bike was totalled. Obviously I was not totalled, but I did get pretty messed up. It has taken me a very long time to get back riding again. Every spring when the bikes started coming out here in NJ, I would think about it. Just couldn't get back on. By chance, this June I happened to find a great deal on the exact same bike I had. I bought it and I am so glad to be back riding again after 10 years.
At first it was a little weird getting on the EXACT same bike that I had 10 years ago. My friends see it as a jinx, but since I don't believe in superstitions I just see it as riding what I liked and was used to.
The first week I had it I broke down near home. Ended up having to replace a bad regulator. Now it runs like a champ.
I'm so happy to be back riding again. I am now 10 years older, hopefully wiser, and definitley more aware of the hazards that are out there every day.

That's all. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Thanks for a great site full of tons of valuable information on the Vulcans.

Welcome to the group - lots of cool people here. Glad to see your back riding again and that you made it through the crash.

Welcome to the tight little Vulcan family we have going here. This site wasn`t even thought of when you had your first vn750. This forum at least doubles the value of the bike, in mine and others opinions. I`m wishing you many years and "uneventful" miles with your face in the wind.

I hope that when/if this broken leg of mine ever heals, that it won`t take me 10 years to get back on my bike. Right now, I feel that if my leg permitted, I would be riding today. I guess I`ll find out if my head is on straight when the time comes. Luckily my bike only suffered scratches and and steering tubes twisted in the fork clamps.

Welcome to the group also. I would say the second time around is really a thrill. You really do not think you can miss it that much until you try it again. Like you said 10 years puts a lot more caution in the wind, then before. Have fun and keep the breeze in your face.

Welcome to the group. I have a 93 that sat for 10 years, it's back running now and probably better than new thanks to this forum. Good folks here with lots of advice and support.

Thanks everyone for a nice welcome here. It's funny to me because I really don't contribute to many message boards, but there is one that I have been a memeber of for a long time. It is cool once you are in, but in the beginning they make it very difficult on new members. It's kind of mean really. I'm not used to a nice place like this!
