Newbie

Hey everyone. I'm Tim Meyer from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I'm 44 years old and have been riding bikes my whole life.
I've owned at least a dozen bikes and usually end up tinkering on em myself.
I just recently purchased a 86 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. This is my first Vulcan, so I'm kinda new to them. There one I bought, apparently the stator is out according to the previous owner. Which I'm hoping to find some good information on this site about. I appreciate you letting me join. Thank you

As an experienced rider, what are your observations about the VN750?

Wood County.

Still have your Mustang? I swear I saw you on 14 when we rode down there a few years ago. Rain chased us everywhere, we even took shelter at some garage type building, maybe near Reedy, or south of there. Went to the park... South of town? Asked you before but I think you missed it.

Used to work in the Roane/Jackson area quite a bit, way back in time. Have a farm in Dirt county.

Have had the Mustang since age 15 as a rusted out first car... 52 now... so it's not going anywhere! I go out 14 for 'testing'. lol It's out of the way, and a good place to blast around, so it's very possible we crossed paths! Car is red.

I have a garage on 14, around 2-3 miles from Spencer right across from the entrance to Barrcutt. I ride the dirt bikes more than the street bike nowadays, but give a shout next time you're in the area. Small world.

'66-67 Mustang, bet it was you. Check your PMs, think I sent one back then, might've been 2013-14 though.

The building we stopped at, on left going north on 14, is white block, maybe some sort of office front, garage area, with tractor shed on the back and maybe one side. We parked in the tractor shed with some other machines.

I ride ATVs, but looking to get a SxS. Want to get back to the poker runs, Creston is one of our favorites.

Newest PM is from 2012. lol
The Creston Poker Run is pretty cool! They were pretty brutal 10 years ago! I use to follow the flags on my dirt bike. Now that people have gotten older and transitioned to Side by Sides... they've probably gotten a lot easier. Would still be a lot of fun. My buddy has a SxS and enters all of them. Would be a good way to get the wife out and play.

Well, 14 year old son is prepping the dirt bikes. Going to go for a ride out in that general area. Have a good one!

Fine day for a ride!

Hey Tim, apologies for hijacking your intro thread. Umm, where ya from? 🙂

Yeah Mike, most runs are pretty tame, but go near some gnarly stuff, so it's optional.

Last time through Rock Run, it didn't look like anyone has been riding the new pipeline. Any new trails around you? Some of the places they crossed, wow. Surprising nobody has said, "hold my beer, watch this".Silt fences are still up.

Maybe I only gave you a shout in the threads, or didn't get the pm sent. Maybe you had the Mustang in your signature or posted about it.

Once I get back in the saddle, maybe we can meet up. Met a cousin for the first time and found out he lives in Roane ... Newton, Wallback, or Speed, somewhere south.
